He was born in Isabella County, a member of Salt River Masonic Lodge, No. 288F and AM, a member of the Coe OES 96 and a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving are is wife, Erma; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Button of Alma MI and Mrs. Betty (Robert) Welsh of Mt. Pleasant MI; one son, Robert L. of Alma; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Smith, Mrs. Gretchen Ames, both of Shepherd, and Mrs. Alice Davidson of Midland MI, and two brothers, Pearl of Shepherd MI and Ernest of Flint MI. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Garber Funeral Home, Shepherd MI. Burial is in Salt River Cemetery, Shepherd MI.
