Funeral services for Viola K. Cornman, 85, of North Middleton Township, will be at the convenience of the family. She died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born May 20, 1918, in North Middleton Township, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Clara Edna (Cornman) King and the widow of Chester C. Cornman, who died Dec. 17, 1999.

Residing all her life in Carlisle, she retired after 15 years of service with G.S. Electric Co. in Carlisle. She was formerly employed with the former C.H. Masland and Son for 14 years. She attended First Church of God in North Middleton Township.

Mrs. Cornman is survived by a daughter, Betty C. Weary of Grantham; a son, Chester D. Cornman Sr. of Salisbury, Md.; three brothers, George L. King, William R. King Sr. and Charles E. King, all of Carlisle; three sisters, Esther K. Penner, Effa K. Barrick and Isabelle E. King, all of Carlisle; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean King.

Burial will be in North Middleton Church of God Cemetery. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home in Carlisle will handle arrangements.
