Maxine L. McGlothlin, 72, of 327 S. 31st St., died at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in her home. Born Aug. 3, 1931, in Stockwell, she graduated from high school in Frankfort. She lived in Horseshoe Bend for many years before coming to Lafayette. She married Gene Seng, and they later divorced. On Nov. 26, 1953, she married James McGlothlin in Lafayette. He died Jan. 23, 1999. Mrs. McGlothlin was the owner of Ye-Olde Tavern in Delphi (now Keyster's Bar) and had owned Easters Tavern in Delphi from 1973 until 2003. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed boating and spending time on the riverbank. Surviving are a son, James B. McGlothlin of Lafayette; and three daughters, Rena Laurina Wood (husband: Dennis) of Lafayette, Teresa "Terry" Boller (husband: Robert) of Delphi and LeBrenda "Jeanie" Cottrell of Delphi; and a brother, Robert Brummette (wife: Edna) of River City, Fla.; and a sister, Marlene Russell (husband: George). Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Services there at 1 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. Interment Battle Ground Cemetery. Preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Alta Cornell Brummette; and 2 brothers, Jerry Joe Brummette and Wilbur Brummette Jr.; and a great-grandson, Ryan Vauters. Survivors include 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
