Mr. Brummett served in the Army during the Korean War, where he received the Good Conduct, Korean Service, United Nations and National Defense medals. He formerly worked as a mechanic for Firestone Auto Sales, retiring five years ago on disability. He was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sherry Carpenter of Colfax and Brenda Conner of Lafayette; a son, James R. Leep of Lafayette; two sisters, Maxine (Mrs. James) McGlothlin of Brookston and Marlene (Mrs. George) Russell of Lafayette; a brother, Robert Brummett of Stockwell; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Joe Brummett.
Service Feb. 22, Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Mark Hill and Mary Foxworthy officiating; internment with American Legion military rites at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
