Guy J. Fuller, 92, of 100 S. Fayette St., Shippensburg, died on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born on Nov. 15, 1916, in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late William M. and Sidney Hammond Fuller.

Guy was a retired employee of Towne Cleaners in Shippensburg, where he worked until he was in his 80s. Earlier in his life, he worked at the State Correctional Facility in Camp Hill. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served as a staff sergeant with the 939th Heavy Artillery Battalion. Guy also hosted the last four reunions of the 939th Battalion.

He was a member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168; Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223; Minnequa Social Club; a member of Cumberland Valley Hose Company; and for a short time was a driver for the Shippensburg Ambulance.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn L. Staver Fuller; two daughters, Cindy E. Unger of Shippensburg and Melissa D. (and her husband, James C.) Reed of Greencastle; a brother, Mearns W. Fuller of Severn, Md.; four grandsons, Brian (and his wife, Stephanie) Reed of Chambersburg, Justin (and his wife, Tara) Reed of Greencastle, Matt (and his wife, Afton) Unger and Evan Unger, all of Shippensburg; a great-grandson, Landon Reed; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Fuller and Kathleen Gury; a brother, Herbert Fuller; and son-in-law, Richard O. Unger Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg. The Rev. Paul K. Hauk will officiate. Burial will be held in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts.
