Mrs. Mary M. Browning, 76, 1512 Atchison St, died yesterday morning at a hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, where she had been visiting her son, Edward V. Browning, since December 1. She was the widow of Edward Glenn Browning, who died in 1961.
The body will arrive in Atchison this evening from Colorado Springs. Funeral Mass will be said Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Church here, the Rev. Augustine Rottering officiation. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She was born March 11, 1891, in the Mooney Creek community, the daughter of Stephen and Christina Carstens Meier, and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Besides her son, she leaves her sister, Sr. Amata Meier of Mount Saint Scholastica Convent, now on assignment in Brookfield, MO; brother, William Meier, Atchison; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
