LAPORTE -- William C. Wildt, 88, of 714 D. St., died at 12:55 a.m. today in Anderson Sanitarium after an illness of four months.
Born in Union Center on Oct. 28, 1874, he had lived his lifetime here. Mr. Wildt was a retired employee of Allis-Chalmers Corp. He married Gertrude Haskin on May 4, 1905, who died Oct. 20, 1942. He was a member of the Allis-Chalmers Senior League.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edna Schadowsky and Mrs. Ethel Jones, both of LaPorte; a son, Donald E. Wildt of LaPorte; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Miller and Mrs. Madlin Miller, both of LaPorte.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph H. Richardson, pastor of the Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Kingsbury Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Tuesday in the funeral home.
