Fast Mail Hits Wagon With Pupils Going Home From School In Indiana.
LaPorte, Ind., April 19.--Six school children were killed and six seriously injured about four o'clock Friday afternoon when a west-bound Grand Trunk mail train crashed into the wagon in which the children were being driven to their homes seven miles south of LaPorte. The dead are:
Leonard Inez Mitchell, eleven; Hazel Kiegel, fifteen; William Schmitz, six; Irene Wildt, thirteen; Winifred Condon, fourteen; Evelyn Marris, twelve.
