Services for Mr. Leland E. Warren, 91, will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the First Christian Church of Dublin. The Rev. Billy Glisson and the Rev. Jim Nipper will be the officiating ministers. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Warren was born in Laurens County June 13, 1914 to the late E.E. and Sallie Mae Thagard Warren. He was the owner and operator of Warrens Grocery of Dublin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan. His job during service was a driver for generals and higher ranking military officials. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Susie Martin Warren; six brothers, William, Robert, Johnnie Sr., Wilbur Joe and Eugene Warren. Mr. Warren died Monday. Survivors include one daughter, Ann W. Anderson and husband Jack of Loganville; one son, Dr. Eddie Warren and wife Ann Alexander Warren of Manhattan, Kan.; one grandson, Derry Anderson and wife Julia of Plano, Texas; one granddaughter, Sheri Anderson of Griffin; three great grandchildren, Luke, Laren and Julie-Claire Anderson of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Helen Hudson and husband Paul of Dublin and Charlotte Stembridge and husband Asbury of Macon; three sisters-in-law, Faye McConnell of Macon, Mary Lee Martin of Jackson and Janet Smith of Milledgeville. Active pallbearers will be Johnnie Warren Jr., Paul Hudson, Asbury Stembridge Jr., Hugh Warren, Robert Smith and Martin Graham.
