Duaine George Alderman, 79, of Lawson, MO passed away Thursday April 29, 2010 at Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center in Excelsior Springs MO.

Born July 23 1930 in Table Rock NE, he was the son of George Walter and Sylvia Marie (Shepherd) Alderman. On December 10 1960 in Holton KS he was married to Opal Irene O'Roke who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Larry Alderman and wife Vickie of Kearney MO, Marie Wiltfong and husband Bud of Lawson MO and Myra Browning of Kansas City MO; one step-son, Terry Newell and wife Janet of Lathrop MO; a step-son-in-law, Michael Hudlemeyer of Kansas City MO; three brothers, Walter Alderman and wife Betty of Omaha NE, Darreld Alderman and wife Delores of Independence MO and Byford Alderman of Kansas City KS; one sister, Shrie Henrichsen and husband Jack of Pawnee City NE; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Sharon Hudlemeyer; one brother, Arthur Alderman and one sister, Lucille Clark.

Mr. Alderman attended rural schools in Nebraska. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. In 1952 he moved to Kansas City, MO and worked in various employments before going to work for the Ford Motor Company in Claycomo from where he retired in 1990.

Duaine was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Excelsior Springs having been involved in several remodeling projects of the church. He was also a member of the UAW #249 in Claycomo and the American Legion of Liberty. He enjoyed gardening and cars, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 3 2010 at 10am at Polley Funeral Home in Lawson MO. Burial with military honors will follow in Lawson Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday evening 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
