Darreld J. Alderman 84, of Independence, Missouri passed away on February 14, 2019 in Independence, Missouri. Darreld was born on July 14, 1934 in Pawnee City, NE to George and Sylvia (Shepard) Alderman. After graduating from Pawnee City High School in 1952 Darreld went to work for General Motors, where he retired with over 30 years of service. Darreld served a short stint in the Army in 1954. He was a long-time member of Pleasant View Christian Church. Darreld enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake or traveling the country with Delores. He would never pass up a garage sale or a good country music show. Survivors include; children Shirley Long (Gary), Jeffrey Barnett (Kathy), and Sandy Barnes (Frank), five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brother Byford Alderman; sister Shrie Henrichsen (Jack); extended family and many friends. Darreld is preceded in death by his parents, wives Lorrea Alderman and Delores (McGee) Alderman, brothers Walt and Art Alderman and sister Lucille Clark. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant View Christian Church, 19114 E Salisbury Road, Independence, MO 64056.
