The deceased was born in Kentucky and came with his parents to the old Miers farm, one mile east of Milford, in 1827. Since then he had been a resident of the county practically all of the time.

He was married to Euphamia Braden, July 13, 1843. Three children of this union survive. Mrs. Marion Lawson, of Oklahoma; Mrs. William Gardner, of this city, and Cass L. Miers, of Marion township.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Dytha Howell, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Margaret Jackson of two miles west of town. Also one brother, John L. Miers, of near Milford.

The deceased lived for many years on the Gilchrist farm, three miles west of town. Last year he spent with his daughter in Oklahoma. Mr. Miers was a man of great physical strength and lived to a good old age.
