Effie Torgerson 1904-1996

Effie C. Torgerson, 91, of Clearbrook, died Wednesday, July 17, 1996, at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook.
She was born September 25, 1904, at Olmstad County, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Neckolena Westrum. She was baptized at Rockdale. As a child she and her family moved to Leon Township, Clearwater County. She was confirmed in 1919 at Seljord Lutheran. She married Henry Torgerson February 2, 1921 in Clearbrook. In 1950 they moved to Clearbrook. Henry died February 2, 1976. She moved to Good Samaritan Center in 1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Ina (Fred) Kavanaugh of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Orville in 1977; five sisters, Inga, Jane, Minnie and Viola; and four brothers, Norman, Oscar, Oliver and Severin.
Funeral services were Friday, July 19 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook with Rev. Gary Boen officiating. Interment was at the Sliver Creek Cemetery, Clearbrook, with arrangements by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley.
