Henry Torgerson 1890-1976

Henry Rudolph Torgerson, 86, resident of Clearbrook, died February 2 at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital. He was born January 29, 1890 in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota to parents John and Ingeborg Torgerson. In 1902 they moved to Leon Township, Clearwater County. He was married to Effie Westrum in Clearbrook February 2, 1921. In 1950 they moved into Clearbrook.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Clearbrook. He helped organize and served on the board of the Clearbrook Coop Oil, the Clearbrook Coop Creamery. He served as clerk of Leon Township and as Township Assessor in Leon.
Survivors include his wife, Effie; one son Orville of Clearbrook; and one daughter Inga, Mrs. Fred Kavanaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, at 1 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook with the Rev. Richard Larson officiating. Burial will be made in the Silver Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.
