On Friday, October 24, 1902, Riley Conner died at 3:15 in the morning and his wife, Hester, died at 5:30 the same evening.
Hester had been sick for several weeks and death was expected. Riley attended church in the morning on Sunday and in the evening his illness began which terminated in death on the following Friday.
After the funeral service, two horse and the large number of people made a solemn procession as it moved to the cemetery east of Panora, Iowa, where they both were buried in one grave by the children who many years ago were laid to rest.
