WELL KNOWN FARMER STRICKEN SUDDENLY
Calvin Dively of Hopewell Community, South of Unadilla, Died Monday Afternoon; Services Held This Afternoon.
Calvin Dively, 74, one of the well known farmers of the Hopewell community, south of Unadilla, was stricken suddenly at his home Monday afternoon, April 21, at 4 o'clock. Death came almost instantly from a heart attack.
He was born in Pennsylvania February 24, 1867, and came to the Hopewell community with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dively, in early childhood. He had lived nearly all of his life in the community and was one of the prominent farmers of the county. He was a frequent visitor in Syracuse and enjoyed a host of friends.
Mr. Dively preferred to remain a bachelor all of his life, living with a brother, Jake, and a sister, Mary, who with another brother, Harry of Douglas, survive him.
Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at one o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the Hopewell church. Burial was made in the Hopewell cemetery.
The body was taken to the Tonsing mortuary where it remained until Wednesday evening when it was taken to the home.
