SERVICES FOR PIONEER HOPEWELL RESIDENT
Mary Dively Ill For Almost Year With Heart Trouble.
Mary Dively, one of the well known residents of the Hopewell community, passed away at the St. Mary's hospital in Nebraska City, Friday morning, September 25, 1942, at 10 o'clock, following almost a year's illness from heart trouble and complications.
She was born in Pennsylvania, October 7, 1865, and came to the Hopewell community with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dively in early childhood.
She was a good neighbor, a faithful friend and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. She never married, making her home with her brothers, one of whom, Calvin, preceded her in death.
Three months before her death, she was taken to her brother's home at Douglas where she was cared for until Wednesday, when she was taken to the St. Mary's hospital, passing away Friday morning at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 12 days.
Surviving her are two brothers, Jake at home and Harry at Douglas, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Dively, two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hopewell Church, Rev. Proett officiating. Interment was made in the Hopewell cemetery.
