KERMIT BEGLAU
Milton-Freewater - Kermit L. Beglau, 88, of 112 N.W. 10th Ave. died May 3, 1988 at Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center. At his request, there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice through Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater.

Mr. Beglau was born Dec. 9, 1909, in McClusky, N.D., to Emanual (sic) and Caroline Buckmiller (sic) Beglau. He was raised and attended schools in North Dakota. He moved to Milton-Freewater as a young man and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Milton-Freewater and worked as a mechanic and machinist for Umatilla Cannery. He raised and sold tomatoes and cut and sold firewood. On May 28, 1962, he married Bessie M. Bowcutt in Elko, Nev., and they made their home in Milton-Freewater. Mrs. Beglau died June 25, 1997. Mr. Beglau enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Beverly Hylton of Milton-Freewater and Victoria McCurry of Beaverton, Ore: a stepson, Jerry Sherman of Clark Fork, Idaho; a brother, Pershing Beglau of Washington and several stepgrandchidren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
