Not much is known of Wayne Dean Beglau. He was just two years old when he lost his father, two sisters and a brother in a fire. At the age of 4, he moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon with his mother and family. He grew up and was educated in this area. From his U.S. Army discharge papers, it is learned that he entered the service in Feb. of 1943. His service occupation was listed as radio oprator. He served in New Guinea, and the Southern Phillippines and was discharge in Dec of 1945. After his discharge, he worked for Boeing Aircraft for many years. His cause of death was cancer. His daughter Valerie now lives with her mother in Hawaii.

Listed as Wayne D. Beglau (son) on the 1930 U.S. Census (15th) for Precinct 7, Freewater City, Umatilla Co., Oregon taken April 9, 1930. Age listed as 6. Birth place: North Dakota. Father's birth place incorrectly listed as France, mother's as Germany (actually from from Russia). Enumeration District No. 30-8, Sheet 1A. Lived with mother and three brothers.

Wayne Dean Beglau is buried very close to his brother Woodrow Antonio Beglau and his mother Caroline Buchmiller Beglau in the Acacia Memorial Cemetery near Lake Forrest Park and Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Woodrow took care of the arrangements.
