Oscar Sales, president of the Southern Montana Racing Association and stockholder and director of the Belgrade State Bank, died Saturday morning at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was 75 years old.

Sales, a rancher, had lived at the home ranch on the Gallatin River about five miles north of Shedd’s Bridge most of his life.

He was born in Bozeman April 1, 1890, son of Mrs. And Mrs. Charles Alfred Sales.

Sales married Mary Tudor at Bozeman on Aug. 25, 1913. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1963.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include a daughter, Mrs. W. L. Tip (Beulah) Cline of El Centro, Calif.; a brother, Charles Sales of Bozeman; two sisters, Mrs. John (Maggie) Cook of Bozeman and Mrs. Earl (Ida) Robbins of Manhattan; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
