Marjorie Prinz, 86, of Coupland passed away Thursday morning, April 15, 2010, at her beloved family farm in the Rices Crossing/Cele Community where she has lived for the past 63 years. Marjorie was born in the Type Community of Williamson County, Texas to Paul and Agda Helgren on June 9, 1923. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the Lund Community where she was a devoted member throughout her entire life.
She and Raymond Prinz were married on May 4, 1942,while he was stationed in the Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and partner with her husband Raymond at their farming operation where they were blessed with seven children. They celebrated over 54 years of marriage until his death in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her youngest son, Roger Prinze; one brother, Oscar Helgren; two sisters, Pauline Madsen and Ruby Prinz.
She is survived by one son, James Prinz and wife Denise of Coupland; five daughters, Lois and husband Randy Kruger of Lago Vista, Margaret and husband Calvin Taylor of Bastrop, Geraldine (Deanie) and husband Wayne Ross of bastrop, Helen and husband Dennis Hengst of Giddings, Betty (BJ) and husband Thomas Gola of Taylor; thirteen grandchildren, Randy Kruger Jr., Diana Moncure, Marsha Bickham, Ray Ross, Crystal Devoll, Gregory Hengst, Karl Hengst, Anthony Gola, Adam Gola, Daniel Prinz, Mark Prinz, John Prinz and Jayme Prinz and seven great-grandchildren, Haley Marie Kruger, Courtney McVay, Christian Moncure, Lane Linhart, Kayln Prinz, Emerson Prinz and Amery Prinz; one brother, Clarence Helgren and wife Wilma of Elgin; two sisters, MayDell Prinz and Mildred McClellan; and two sister-in-law, Evelyn Gustafson and Irene Helgren all of Elgin.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Elgin, Tx. Special thanks to Pilar Bazan and Molly Seggern for their tender loving care. Also, our appreciation and gratitude to her doctors, William Lewis and Stuart Damore, and Hospice Austin.
The family wishes to receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17th. A funeral service will be conducted at Bethelhem Lutheran Church on Lund-Carlson Road, Elgin, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18th with the Reverend David Klumpp officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Lund Cemetery. Arrangements and care are entrusted to the staff at Elgin Funeral Home.
