Mildred McClellan, 92, of Elgin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening January 18, 2013 after being hospitalized and losing the battle to pneumonia.

She was a devoted, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend. Mildred was a treasure that not often comes our way. She was a beautiful person who thought of others before herself. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mildred was born in the Type Community of Williamson County, TX to Paul Rudolph and Agda Marie Anderson Helgren on January 15, 1921. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a current member of St. Peters' Lutheran Church in Elgin, TX.

Mildred was employed by several businesses throughout her working career including City Café, Ben Mart Variety Store, Williams Minimax Grocery, and Super S Grocery Store where she worked in the bakery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Oscar Helgren; three sisters, Pauline Madsen, Ruby Prinz, and Marjorie Prinz. `

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Terry) Jackson of Austin, Doris Eileen (Danny) Page of Elgin, and Dr. Susan Marie Warner of Beeville, Two grand children Sheryl Lynn Raschke of Austin, and Troy (Kimberly) Page of Elgin, and five great grandchildren, Danielle Elizabeth De Leon of Corpus Christi, Haleigh Carolyn Page of Peoria, AZ, Dylan Andrew Terrell De Leon, of Austin, Jenna Eileen Page and Ryan Scott Page of Peoria, AZ. One brother, Clarence (Wilma) Helgren of Elgin, and one sister, May Dell Prinz, one sister-in-law, Irene Helgren of Elgin and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Elgin, TX. Special thanks to Molly Seggren for providing loving care and to the Staff of the Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The family wishes to receive guests at the Providence Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Providence Jones Funeral Home, Hwy 95, Elgin, TX with the Reverend Bridget Thien officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Elgin Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Troy Page, Gary Madsen, Rodney Helgren, Randy Helgren, James Prinz, and Edgar Prinz, Jr.

Arrangements and care are entrusted to the staff of Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, Elgin, TX.
