Oakley Teddy "Mike" Adams,the son of Rev. William David Adams "W.D" and Mary Lavisa "Minnie" Myers-Adams.Born June 21,1909 south of Webster City,Iowa.He grew up in the Webster City area.He lived in Oklahoma when he was a young man.He moved back to Webster City,Iowa.He started his own trucking company "The Mike Adams Truck Line" Webster City,Iowa,established in 1926.He later moved his trucking company to Eagle Grove,Iowa.He worked and operated the company until he retired in 1972.Mike was one of the early pioneers of the trucking business in North Central Iowa.
He was married to first wife Ereal Fualkner.Second wife Nellie Thurmond at Humboldt,Iowa.The family made their home in Webster City until 1941 when they moved to Eagle Grove.He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He died early Tuesday morning April 29th.,1986,at the Story City,Iowa Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 8 days.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Adams of Eagle Grove;two daughters Lodean (Don)Albers of Crystal,Minn.;Betty (Clarence)Wilde of Eagle Grove,Iowa;Three sons Milton D.Adams of Oakland,Minn.;Ronald Adams of Webster City,Iowa;Michael Adams of Woodruff,Wis.;23 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren;and a sisterZepha Adams-Ruhl of Webster City,Iowa.And many other family and friends.
He was proceded in death by his parents William "W.D." Adams and Mary Lavisa "Minnie" Myers-Adams.Four sisters Mae Adams,Ruby Adams both babies buried at Saratoga,Iowa;Estey Adams-Ruhl and Bessie Adams-Killingworth,both of Webster City,Iowa;Four brothers Stanley Harold Adams,Weiser,Idaho;Clarence M. Adams,Newell,Iowa;Truey Ervie Webster City,Iowa;Edger Lee Adams, Fresno,California.
Funeral services for O.T."Mike" Adams, age 76 of Eagle Grove were held on Thursday,May 1,1986 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove,Iowa. Rev.Scott C.Hall, church officiated.Visitation was held on Wednesday at Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove,Iowa.
