VALPARAISO -- Elsie Nelson, 95, of Valparaiso, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 1991, at Porter Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 27, 1896, in Hopedale, Ill.
Mrs. Nelson was a 65-year area resident and a member of the Hopewell Mennonite Church, Kouts.
On Jan. 27, 1917, in Middlebury, she married William O. Nelson, who preceded her in death in 1972.
Surviving are three daughters, Arlene Rice of Wanatah, Bernice Egli of Kouts, Donnabelle Barber of Valparaiso; one son, Robert Nelson of Valparaiso; four sisters, Emma Birky of Valparaiso, Sadie Yoder of Syracuse, Verna Bickel of Goshen, Leola Plank of Milford; five brothers, Harley, Elmer, Ora, Alvin, and Ralph Miller all of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-step-grandchildren; eight great-great-step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, and four brothers.
Services 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hopewell Mennonite Church, Kouts; the Rev. John Murray officiating; burial in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso; visitation 3-8 p.m. Monday at Kosanke Funeral Home, Kouts.
