Maurice L. Nabers Sr.
Maurice L. Nabers Sr., 89, of 2534 Millerfield Road died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Snow's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Macon memorial Park. The Rev. Charles E. Poole will officiate.
A native of Gordon County, Mr. Nabers had lived in Macon since 1934. He attended the University of Georgia. He was an employee of the Berry Schools for 11 years and was superintendent of maintenance for the Masonic Home of Georgia in Macon. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Edwin S. Davis Bible Class for 53 years, Macon Masonic Lodge No. 5 F&AM, and the macon chapter of the Berry Alumni Association.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Moody Nabers of Macon; a son, Maurice L. Nabers Jr. of Macon; two daughters, Mrs. George Thornton of Gray and Mrs.James D. Welsh of Macon; a sister, Nell Paxton of Calhoun; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.
