Samuel L. Brown
The recent death in Pullman, Wash., of Samuel L. Brown, 93, formerly of San Diego, was reported here yesterday. He was the husband of Mrs. Jeanne Palmer Putnam, a former San Diego Artist.
Mr. Brown was one of the last of the early-day settlers to take up a homestead at Pullman, then Indian territory, in 1880. He and Mrs. Brown were married in 1915.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Don H. Bolster, of Lemon Grove, and Mrs. R. Stewart, of Gooding, Idaho; three sons, Guy O. Brown, of Moscow, Id.; Lauren Brown, of Spokane, and Lester Brown, of Pullman; a step-daughter, Mrs. Golda Putnam Whitten, of Seattle; 18 grandchildren, three of them, Mrs. Beryl Palmer, Mrs. Bernadene Johnson and Mrs. Wanda Carroll, of San Diego, and 14 great-grandchildren
