BODY OF JOSEPH BROWN IS BURIED TODAY AT TRENTON

Muscatine, Ia., June 20.--Joseph Brown, a pioneer resident of Muscatine, passed away Friday evening at 6:40 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Martin, in South Muscatine. Death occurred after a long illness from a complication of ailments.

Mr. Brown was born June 11, 1850 in Clark county, Virginia, and came to Iowa as a child with his parents. The family first settled in Henry county and later came to Muscatine. He was united in marriage 51 years ago to Miss Elizabeth Moorehead, seven children being born to the union.

Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children, Clark and William Brown of Cedar Rapids, Andrew, Albert and Commodore Brown, Mrs. Rose Peterson and Mrs. Frank Martin of Muscatine, two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Ross of Trenton, Ia., and several brothers, one of whom is Sam Brown of the state of Washington.

The remains were taken this morning to Trenton, Ia., where funeral services were held this afternoon.
