His wife died at Onondaga on March 20, 1918; they are both buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.

He was a Civil War veteran, having enlisted with his brother, Addison Roubinge Terry, in Byron, NY on December 17, 1863. Addison was captured and taken to Rebel prison at Salisbury, NC where he died. My great grandfather George, who made it through the war, grieved the loss of his brother, returned to Byron and his wife and child.
George was granted a Civil War pension in 1923 and received $72 monthly for his service until he died in 1926.

They had five sons.
