He was born May 21, 1899, the son of the late Albert and Jenny (Treehouse) Klitzka.
In 1924 Fred was united in marriage to Edith Stickney in Antigo. He then married Carrie Stark. She preceded him in death in 1954.
Survivors include nine children, Clara (Ervin) Habert, Eleanore (Chester) Hatton, Roland (Florence) Klitzka, Frederick Klitzka, Jr., Rose (Gordon) Higgins, Betty (George) Henke, Roger (Bernie) Klitzka, Darlene Griep and Calvin Klitzka; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha (Carl) Matz; and four brothers, August Klitzka, Robert Klitzka, Lawrence Klitzka and Otto Klitzka.
Funeral services were held January 31, 1966 at Schmidt's Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Clarence Bigler officiated. Interment was in Estabrook Cemetery, Fond du Lac.
