Robert Henry Klitzka, Sr., age 82, Bowler, died Tuesday, June 25, 1985 at Birch Hill Care Center.

He was born November 5, 1902 in Waupaca County, the son of the late Albert and Jennie (Treehouse) Klitzka.

Robert was united in marriage to Marion Stickney. She preceded him in death. On September 27, 1969 he married Elsie (Prelipp) Wicke in Birnamwood. She survives.

In addition to his wife, Elsie, survivors include six sons, Robert Klitzka, Jr., Milwaukee, James (Dorothy) Klitzka, Green Bay, Donald (Marlene) Klitzka, Minneapolis, Glen (Pat) Klitzka, Valparaiso, IN, Gerald (Vicky) Klitzka, Buffalo Grove, IL and LeRoy (Celia) Klitzka, Aniwa; two step-sons, Arthur (Linda) Wicke, Birnamwood and Franklin (Evelyn) Wicke, Wittenberg; four daughters, Marcella (Hans) Slang, Diane Vanderstone and Karen Graham, all of Milwaukee and Margaret Hill, Kenosha; two step-daughters, Elsie (Eugene) Matz, Birnamwood and Louise (Arthur) Bierman, Bowler; one brother, Otto Klitzka, Tigerton; one sister, Martha (Carl) Matz, Wittenberg; 55 grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and 37 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sons, Dicky and Lloyd, four brothers, including August Klitzka, Lawrence Klitzka and Fred Klitzka and one sister.

Funeral services were held June 27, 1985 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. John W. Ehlke officiated. Interment was in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood.

Email from a family member indicates that Robert's first wife, Marion, did not precede him in death:
"Robert was my maternal great-grandfather. His first wife Marion Stickney did NOT precede him in death. She lived to the age of 94 in Milwaukee, and is buried in Arlington cemetery there."
