Marjorie Abert, 74, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday at St. Camillus. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Eastwood High School and continued with college classes at night. She was a receptionist at General Electric for 20 years, retiring to care for her mother for 16 years. Marjorie then returned to work for the Syracuse Developmental Center for 17 years, retiring in 2000. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ambrose, Charles, Harold, Edith, Arthur and James. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews of the Abert family. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 3700 W. Genesee St. Contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 .5 Taft Rd., Liverpool, NY 13088 or Parkinsons Support Group, 4224 Trotwood Lane, Syracuse, NY 13214.
