Harold 'Nick' R. Abert, 61, of Burns Avenue died Wednesday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Abert was a life resident of Syracuse. He retired in 1991 after 27 years with the City of Syracuse Water Department.
Mr. Abert was a communicant of St. Paul's Cathedral. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are three sons, James E., Timothy R. and Nicholas H., all of Syracuse; two daughters, Marilyn J. Ryan of Warwick and Edie C. Susnock of Clay; two brothers, Ambrose of Nedrow and Arthur of Camillus; two sisters, Marjorie M. and Edith C. Abert, both of Syracuse; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Cathedral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
