ROY OTIS BUELL, 88

Roy Otis Buell, 88, 606 W. Washington St., Greensburg, died at 3:45 a.m. today, Oct. 4, 1988, in the IOOF Nursing Home, Greensburg, where he had been a patient the past four years. He had lived in Greensburg most of his life, and at his present residence since 1954.

He was born Oct. 30, 1899, in Decatur County, the son of Oliver O. and Bertha Linville Buell. He was a member of the Sandcreek Baptist Church, the IOOF Lodge, the Eagles and the Red Men. He was a car inspector with the New York Central Railroad, and retired in 1963.

He married Bertha B. Clemons Sept. 4, 1921, in Decatur County, and she preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1978. He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Harold (Betty) Small, Mrs. Norbert (Maxine) Brown and Mrs. Wayne (Martha) Davis all of Greensburg, and Mrs. Joe (Sara) Layton, Indianapolis; three sons: James Buell, New Whiteland, Ind., and Donald and Joe Buell, both of Greensburg; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Luella) Ricke, East Moline, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys McGregor, and by six brothers: Willard, Clifford, Harry, Leonard, Lloyd and Howard Buell.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. David Mix, of the Sandcreek Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
