Alton - Final rites for Mrs Bessie Kemp Johnson, 65, were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in the East cemetery.
Mrs Johnson died Saturday at her home. She was a native of Alton. Her husband, John Johnson, died April 7.
Survivors include four sons, John Johnson, of New Albany; Clifford Johnson, of Depauw; Joseph Johnson, of Alton, and James Johnson, of Leavenworth; four daughters, Mrs Alberta Forbes, of Gary; Mrs Naomi Bernardi and Mrs Alice Bates, of New Albany, and Mrs Jean Thompson, of Louisville; two brothers, Jack Kemp, of Alton, and George Kemp, of Decatur, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs Lena Bell Coleman, of Leavenworth, and Mrs Maudie Bullington, of Alton.
