Lynn Jones Beddes Sept. 30, 1923-Oct. 1, 2006

Lynn Jones Beddes died Sunday Oct. 1, 2006 at his home in Cowley. He was born Sept. 30, 1923 in Victor Teton County, Idaho, to Heber Booth Beddes and Amanda Jones Beddes.

He was the eighth of 11 children. Lynn was delivered by his grandmother Jones and oldest sister LaVaughn. After Lynn was born, they wrapped him in blankets and put him in the oven of the old wood cook stove because he was cold and blue.

Lynn moved to Lovell with his family when he was six years old. He grew up in Lovell and joined the Navy, spending three years in Alaska. When he returned to Wyoming, he married Patsy Belles and they had one child, Linda Ann. This marriage ended later in divorce.

Over the years Lynn worked various jobs. He was employed by Goldie Johnson at the Husky gas station in Lovell as a service station attendant, mechanic and tire repairman until his retirement.

On Dec. 3, 1964, Lynn married Lois Hoffman and accepted and loved three stepsons, Chuck, Terry and Roger. They made their home in Cowley where he resided until his death.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions. On Dec. 3, 1985, Lynn shared a special wedding anniversary with Lois as they were able to go to the Idaho Falls Temple and be sealed together. Lynn loved and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and being with his family. Lynn was 83 on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006. He was able to spend his day with a loving family by his bedside.

Lynn is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Lois; one sister, Donna Reynolds of Winchester, Tenn.; daughter Linda Mustard; and three stepsons, Chuck, Terry and Roger Hoffman. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, (today) Oct. 5, 2006 at the Cowley LDS church. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the service is at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cowley Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
