She was called Cannie. It is my thought that the E. in her name may have been Elcannah and that was shortened to Cannie. She was one of three daughters born to William Ellison Burt and Margaret (Peggy) Goleman Burt. She also had two brothers. Cannie married Melton Eliziah Cato on 11 July 1914 in Lauderdale County, MS. The next year of 3 June 1915 she gave birth to a daughter
Mary Frances Cato. A little more than two years later she gave birth of another daughter Rosa Octavia on 21 September 1917. Sadly, Cannie died from childbirth complications one week later
at her residence on C Street in Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS.
