Margaret (Peggy) Goleman was the daughter of Levi Goleman and Seleta E. Laird. Peggy was the fourth of eight children. She married William Ellison Burt, her first cousin, on 20 January 1881 in Clarke County, MS. They had four children born in Clarke County, MS and the fifth and last was born in Lauderdale County, MS in 1896. They remained in Lauderdale County the remainder of their lives.
