William E. Leonidas Burt was the son of William Ellison Burt and Margaret (Peggy) Goleman Burt. He had one brother and three sisters. He married Mary Isabelle Litchfield
23 December 1906 in Lauderdale County, MS. They had 5 children.
William E. Leonidas Burt kept a family record book, which
I was privileged to see and copy in the late 1970's.
I went to visit his daughter Willard Godwin and she allowed me to take the book and copy the family information, which was of great benefit to me in beginning
my research of the Burt family.
