Mrs. Florence B. Overton, 88, of Route 1, Dearing, Georgia, entered into rest Tuesday, April 26, 1988, at her residence. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Flowing Wells Congregational Holiness Church, Augusta, with the Revs. Chet Smith and Eddie Renew officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery, Augusta. Pallbearers will be Johnny C. Dempsey, Robert Wesley Overton, Joseph Lee Overton, Robert L. Overton Jr., Ricky Reid and Bud Overton. Mrs. Overton lived in Augusta most of her life and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Overton, and a son, Robert Overton. Survivors include four sons, Frank L. "Boe" Overton, Augusta, Robert L. Overton and Johnny Overton, both of Harlem, and Clarence Overton, Hephzibah; two daughters, Loretta Clifton, Dearing, and Zenna Mae Olliff, South Carolina, and two sisters, Zennie McGahee and Eva Stubblefield, both of Augusta.
