Dorothy Blazer Alexander, 86, of Sullivan, formerly of Decatur, died 9:05 a.m. Friday (Dec. 8, 1995) in the Illinois Masonic Home, Sullivan. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Illinois Masonic Home Chapel, Sullivan, with the Rev. Mike Brandenburger officiating. Visitation will be one half hour before the services. Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was born on June 19, 1909, in Macon County, the daughter of Charles and Jennie Mueller Blazer. She was an elementary school teacher in the Argenta-Oreana School District. She was a member of the Warrensburg Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority and the Forsyth United Methodist Church. She married Forrest M. Alexander on May 5, 1933, in Woodstock. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1994.
Surviving are her son, Allan B. of Danville; daughter, Ann Murray of Peoria ; grandsons, Scott Alexander of the Chicago area; Jim Murray of Tampa, Fla.; Steve Murray of Gettysburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.
