Earl is my cousin.
Earl Eugene Howe was born Sunday, May 3, 1903 in South Cottonwood (Murray) to Harry Esmond Howe Sr. and Minnie May Fullmer. He grew up in the family home on Vine Street in Murray.

Earl graduated from Granite High School, Class of 1921. He attended the University of Utah and Utah Agricultural College, where he was a member of the varsity football team.

He married Vivian Marguerite Johnson on August 11, 1927 in the Salt Laek Temple. They had three children, Robert, Carole, and Judy.

He was co-owner and operator of Howe Brothers Dairy in Cottonwood. He was president of the Salt Lake County Fair for thirty-five years. He served as director of the Cottonwood Sewer District. He also served as director of Murray State Bank. He served on the Salt Lake County Advisory Board of Commercial Security Bank.

He was a longtime member of the Cottonwood Lion's Club, Salt Lake City Men's Garden Club, and Fort Douglas-Hidden Valley Country Club.

Earl was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, belonging to the East Millcreek Ninth Ward. He was an active member of the Democratic Party.

Earl passed away peacefully of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, September 8, 1982 at his home. He resided at 3570 South Oakwood Street (2610 East) in East Millcreek, Utah at the time of his death.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the East Millcreek Ninth Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3750 South Hillside Lane (2500 East) in East Millcreek. A viewing was held on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary located at 4760 South State Street (100 East) in Murray, and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Earl was laid to rest following the conclusion fo the Funeral Services at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in East Millcreek.
