Virginia Mae Hamilton was born Virginia Vap on May 26, 1938, at Atwood. She moved to Salina in 1962 from Topeka. She died March 1, 1991, at her home in Salina.

Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker, registered nurse, server for Sacred Heart High School Cafeteria and Quality Controller for Schwan's Enterprises. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Sunflower Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Her husband, Donald, died in 1987. Survivors include four sons, Brian, Brent, Craig and Kent; three brothers, Leonard, Eugene and Leo Vap; three sisters, Ramona Hanson, Geraldine Lane and Sister Joseph Ann Vap; and three grandchildren.
