RETIRED RAILROAD WORKER DIES OF FALL - HEAD INJURIES HELD AS CAUSE - EDWARD HARDESTY, 76 year old retired railroad worker, died at 11:55 a.m. yesterday at St. Anthony Hospital of injuries suffered in a fall 2 hours earlier at his home, 1815 Newburg Road. Deputy Coroner Harry Elstone said Hardesty's death was caused by brain injuries and a fractured skull. He said Hardesty fell down steps leading to his basement. Hardesty had been retired 11 years. Survivors are his wife, Ms. Elizabeth Hardesty; a daughter, Mrs. William Bennett, with whom he lived; a son, Harold Hardesty, Corbin, Ky.; a sister Mrs. A. A. Corbett; two brothers, Michael and John Hardesty; his stepmother, Mrs. Alice Fackler; six half sisters, Mrs. Paul Wiseman, Mrs. Wallace Frakes, Mrs. Lamar Fackler, Mrs. Alton Fackler, Mrs. Zelma Ritchie, and Mrs. Owen Argabright; half brother, Fred Hardesty, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Bosse Funeral Home with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
