J.H. "Buddy" Hardesty, 72 years old, prominent Meade County farmer, died at his home near Highland, of a heart attack, last Thursday night [February 10, 1955]. Mr. Hardesty had been in ill health for several months, but was able to be out on the day before his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Hardesty; 5 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Kendall, Shively, Miss Nina Hardesty and Mrs. Ray Kleber of Louisville, Mrs. J.T. Barger, Midway and Miss Marjorie Anne Hardesty at home; 1 son, Herman Hardesty of Louisville; and 15 grandchildren. Five sons and 1 daughter preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Payneville, Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial was in church cemetery.
