Marvin Hobby, a beloved husband and father, passed away September 23, 1995, after a gallant fight against cancer. Marvin was 68 years old and a retired tool and die maker. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on August 28, 1927. Marvin and his family moved to Mesquite, Texas in 1968, where he had his home until death. He was veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. "Buddy", as he was known by, was a member of Town East Baptist Church in Mesquite. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucille Hobby; two children, Keith Hobby, of Bedford, Texas; and Christy Hobby of Mesquite, Texas; two grandchildren, Jeramy and Marshall Hobby, of Bedford, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Manire of Maumelle, Arkansas and Elizabeth Atwood of Terrell, Texas; three brothers, E.H. Hobby and Roy Hobby, Both of North Little Rock, Arkansas and R.B. Hobby of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, September 25, 1995 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Solesbee and Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment College Mound Cemetery, Terrell, Texas
