Conner, Elva Mae, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, December 16, 1996. She was the widow of Jess L. Conner and was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Belle Blankenship and a son, Thomas Junior Blankenship. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond E. and Betty J. Blankenship, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; four sisters, Elsie Parrish, Cora Jane Lephew, both of Elliston, Laura Wade, Salem, Isabell Conner, Roanoke; two brothers, Ed Melton and Frank Melton, both of Elliston, and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 1996 at the Little Hope Cemetery at Elliston with the Rev. John Chambers officiating.
