Mrs. Maggie Gedy Lucas, 89, of Rt. 1, Stanley died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at her home. She was born June 30, 1885 at Stanley and was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Nauman Leake. In 1906 she married Hunter Lucas, who died June 9, 1937. She is survived by two sons, Edward Oakley and Myron Preston Lucas, both of Pittsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Reva Virginia Housden and Mrs. Brownie Elizabeth Housden, both of Stanley, and Mrs. Maggie Mae Dovel of Shenandoah; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Saturday at Leake's Chapel Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Andrew Laslo. Burial was in the church cemetery.
