Miss Ella Elizabeth Leake, 85, of Route 2, Stanley, died Monday, August 16, 1965, at 8 a.m. at the Luray Nursing Home, where she had resided for one year. She had been in failing health for the past three years.
Mrs. Leake was born in Stanley on September 22d 1879, being the daughter of the late John W. and Sarah C. Nauman Leake.
She was a member of the Leaks Chapel Church of the Brethren.
Last rites were conducted on Wednesday, August 18, 1965, from the Leakes Chapel Church of the Brethren with the Reverend Curtis Coffman, assisted by the Reverend John Aleshire. Interment took place in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Ferrell W. Leake, of Stanley; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Lucas and Mrs. Bertha Smelser, both of Stanley. Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
