Gladys Roxanna Brown was my grandmother's sister. She invited us to visit her cottage on White Horse Beach in the spring. We also visited her in Ashby, Massachusetts, USA, where her husband grew gladiolas. Her home in Ashby was said to have been part of the underground railroad during the era of slave escapes. We would sometimes walk over to the cemetery where she was buried beside her husband.
