Glenwood Cemetery

The cemetery property has three parts. The eastern part of the cemetery was laid out in the 1850s. The western part of the cemetery was laid out around 1911 with additional areas laid out in 1925 and in the late 20th century. Land south of the cemetery was donated to the town by the Wyman family in the 1980s and was recently developed as burial land.
Glenwood Cemetery is a fairly well-preserved cemetery with a range of headstones and family monuments from the 1850s to the present. It also reflects the changing ethnic composition of the community, with almost all English surnames until the 20th century when the community became more diverse.
The cemetery is comprised of about 14.57 acres. The earliest death date is 1830 (reinterments). The cemetery is still in use and as of 2007 there were approximately 1500 stones.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as ASY.802 Glenwood Cemetery.
